The Organizational Committee for the Tenth China International Childrens' Film Festival was formed on November 8, 2008. The principal functions of the committee are as follows:
The Chongqing Office of Maeya Culture Exchange Group LLC is responsible for domestic (China-based) sponsorship and related logistics;
The U.S. head office, based in Los Angeles, California, is responsible for  international sponsorships, overseas motion picture invitations and publicity for the festival as well as inviting  well-known actorsactressesdirectors and producers to participate; and,
New Media Event Company (the former E.E. Media Corporation ) is in charge of all media activities.

The 10th China International Children's Film Festival Project

 

Background:

China International children's Film Festival (CICFF) is the only international film festival named with “China”. It was approved by the State council as a program for cultural development, and has been register with the United Nations. CICFF was born in 1989, with approvals of the State Council, and has been holding once every two years. In this festival, Children will vote for their favorite films. The CCIFF’s main purpose is to offer a platform for excellent children's films from all over the world, which opens a window for Chinese children to observe the world, understand the study and life conditions of children from other countries and areas and narrow their gaps. As the same, these excellent Chinese childrens films are also expected to be a tie for worldwide movie makers to be more extensively and truly understand the living condition of Chinese children in different areas and from different nations. It has been held nine times till 2007.With the improvement China's international image, its comprehensive competence and influence, this festival will change to be held annually since the opening of the 10th children's film festival in 2009. The past nine festivals were supported and sponsored by local governments, China National General Office of Broadcasting and Television, China Children and Youth's Fund, China Children and youth's Film Festival, and many businesses.  

Objectives:

1. Introduce our host city to the world; make it a world-known and more famous.

2. Promote the cultural exchange of children' s films between china and the world.

3. Improve the exchange and cooperation between the local and world's animation and cultural industry.

4. Promote the local tourist industry

5. Provide good opportunity for local students' accession to world's culture.

6. Enrich the cultural and artistic life of the local people.

Main Activities:

The CICFF will last for seven days, during which there will be a lot of activities, such as film show, little audiences’ vote for the most favorite film, social gathering between film artists’ from domestic and abroad, major movie creators’ symposium, national film education symposium, and so on. Some 150 Chinese and foreign children’s films will be together shown during that time; meanwhile, a corporation and communication with Oscar Award Committee, CAMI Committee, and LA Children’s Film Festival Committee, Hollywood celebrity Prize, and Hawaii International Film Festival Committee will be achieved. Of those 150 children’ films, 135 belong to foreign countries and 15 are from China.

During this film festival, many other activities will be conducted like International Animation Show Week, International Films Exhibition Week, World Children’s Film Development Forum, Illusion World and Film Knowledge Popularization, “little audience’s most favorite film” evaluation and so on. Besides, the activities also include collecting marks and mascots, and organizing children to take part in the choice of “idol in my heart” activity.

We hope the 10th CICFF will, based on the tradition, involve enterprises from local and businesses all over the country. With the publicity of the national and global media, this festival will promote the development of enterprises and make brands well-known throughout the world; in so doing CICFF will become a mutual beneficial activity and will lead to win-win prospects.

The 10th CICFF will held the exhibition of world's cultural products; film and TV Multi-media  international cooperation meetings;  activities of animation and cartoon; trade fair and children's new product release conference;  Chinese famous brand named children product promotions to the global; etc. The international film stars, pop stars, famous directors, renowned enterprises will take part in this festival. Besides, almost a thousand journalists assigned by nearly 300 news agencies from over 40 countries and areas come to report this grand festival. Those countries include the USA, Germany, France, Britain, Japan, South Korea, Swiss, Italy, Singapore and so on. Those media involved are TV. Broadcast, newspaper, magazine, networks、mobile and interactive TV and so on.

 Landmarks of the CICFF:

The 9th China International Children's Film Festival was held in Ningbo, of Zhejiang Province, on June 1st,  in  2007.

The 8th China International Children's Film Festival was held in Hengdian of Zhejiang Province from June 1st to 5th, in 2005

The 7th China International Children's Film Festival was held in Zibo of Shandong Province for about five days from June 1st to 5th . in 2003.
